Selling on eBay – Auction or Buy it Now?
If you not in any hurry to sell and you want to achieve the best price, then always use the BIN option with a best offer option, it may take longer to sell but you will almost always get a higher price. Buyers often prefer to be able to simply make an offer or buy it now, rather then wait a week and place a bid in the hope that they might win it.
Auctions on the other hand can be very hit and miss, but always make the auction start price a little below the amount you are prepared to accept. If you want to know what other similar items have sold for on eBay, then simply use the ‘Advanced Search’ facility, which will allow you to find items that have sold in the past. If you simply want to sell quickly then start with a low start price and keep your fingers crossed, but remember that most bidders will leave it until the last second, so don’t end the auction early just because it has only low bids!
